About

Tracy Jo is a Black Rock (Bridgeport), CT based musician and leader of roots-rock band Tracy Jo & the Toads. After studying music in New Orleans, Tracy Jo relocated to Connecticut; bringing new experience and influences into her songwriting. The band is a refreshing blend of blues and gritty soul led by powerful, sultry vocals.

Following the release of the single Runnin' (2016), Tracy Jo saw success in the festival circuit and stages around the northeast. She released an EP, Two Shots (2018), followed by single New Moon Mud (2022) and her debut album Get There with Tracy Jo & the Toads (2024). To celebrate the release of Get There, Tracy Jo performed a concert alongside Pete Francis, formerly of the band Dispatch.

As a by-product of the full band, Tracy Jo performs regularly as an acoustic act. Performing solo or with rotating musicians, Tracy Jo is the perfect balance of soul and modern folk. Fit for the stage, she pairs a unique pick of covers with her own music to complement her original blues/soul feel.

In addition to her own projects, Tracy Jo tours nationally as a singer with reggae band Talking Dreads. Lead by former member of the Tom Tom Club, Mystic Bowie, Talking Dreads infuses fresh life into Talking Heads' classic catalog with a high octane mix of roots reggae, ska and rock.

Tracy Jo is currently writing new music in addition to touring with Talking Dreads while taking a hiatus from Tracy Jo & the Toads.
